ResearchLab is building a stealth product for modern accounting work: software that helps companies operate with better records, clearer controls, and more useful financial insight. We're looking for a junior-to-mid-level Technical Accountant who can bring real accounting knowledge into the product while also helping manage day-to-day finance work for companies in Kosova.
This is not a traditional back-office accounting role. You will handle practical accounting tasks, but you will also work close to product, engineering, and operations. Your experience with invoices, tax filings, reconciliations, company registrations, ERP systems, and messy real-world workflows will help us decide what the product should do, where automation is useful, and where human judgement still matters.
The right person has some accounting exposure, understands the basics of how companies in Kosova operate, and wants to grow inside an international team. You do not need to be a senior accountant, but you should be curious, organised, and excited by the idea of improving how finance work gets done.
What you'll do
- Maintain accounting records for companies in Kosova and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close work.
- Prepare and review documentation for VAT, payroll, supplier payments, customer invoices, reconciliations, and statutory reporting.
- Support filings, registrations, and administrative processes connected to ARBK, ATK, and other relevant institutions.
- Keep finance data accurate across ERPNext, Odoo, or similar accounting and ERP systems, and help the team understand what those systems do well or poorly.
- Work with product and engineering to explain accounting requirements, test new workflows, review product assumptions, and give practical feedback from a finance user's perspective.
- Help improve workflows for invoicing, approvals, reporting, document storage, management accounts, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and public institutions when needed.
- Turn recurring manual work into clear processes that can be automated, measured, and improved.
You'd be a good fit if
- You have accounting exposure or hands-on experience in bookkeeping, finance operations, tax support, payroll support, audit support, management reporting, or company administration in Kosova.
- You have knowledge of, or practical experience working with, ARBK and ATK processes, portals, documentation, or reporting requirements.
- You hold, are studying toward, or are eligible to pursue a relevant Kosovo accounting qualification through SCAAK or another KCFR-licensed professional association, such as Certified Accounting Technician or Certified Accountant.
- You understand Kosovo tax, employment, and financial reporting basics, and you know when to ask for specialist advice.
- You've used ERPNext, Odoo, or a similar ERP/accounting platform in real work.
- You can translate accounting requirements into clear notes, examples, edge cases, and product feedback for a technical team.
- You want to work for an international company and build a long-term career inside it.
- You're comfortable communicating in English with colleagues, advisors, and partners across countries.
It goes a long way if
- You're interested in AI and curious about how frontier models can improve accounting work.
- You've attended workshops, courses, or internal training on AI-powered accounting or finance automation.
- You know other accounting tools, reporting tools, payroll systems, or document management platforms.
- You have helped configure an ERP system, clean finance data, design an approval flow, or document how an accounting process should work.
- You enjoy working with product teams and can give precise feedback without needing every answer in advance.
- You enjoy changing things for the better instead of repeating a broken process.
